Celebrating the finest produce from Ashford and beyond, this summer marks the highly anticipated return of the ASHFOOD! festival to the heart of the bustling market town. Following the success of the 2023 event, which drew crowds from across the region to sample Kent’s culinary delights, this year’s festival promises to be even grander.
Taking place on Saturday, June 29, and Sunday, June 30, 2024 (12 PM-6 PM on Saturday and 12 PM-4 PM on Sunday), ASHFOOD!, in association with headline sponsor Girlings Solicitors, and media partner insideKENT will bring together local food, drink, entertainment, and family fun to create an unforgettable weekend.
Guests can head to Elwick Place’s Piazza to soak up the sun and the electric atmosphere, enjoying an array of food and drink offerings and here are the first in the line-up! Indulge in world-class cocktails crafted by World Margarita 2024 finalist Lexi from Hide Bar, and savour exquisite gins courtesy of Silent Pool Distillery. Local favourite Jay’s Soul Food will offer an African-Caribbean spice fix, while Godmersham Grill will serve venison and beef burgers, wild boar, and pork hot dogs. The Oyster Buoys will provide a seafood treat, and Caffeine and Fizz’s iconic pink coffee truck will cater to coffee lovers. For those with a sweet tooth, Abbi’s Cakes will be on hand with delightful confections.
Elwick Place’s own food and drink establishments and entertainment spaces will join in the festivities. Enjoy treats from The Ashford Cinema, explore new realities at Ashford’s only dedicated VR centre, Virtual Recreation and participate in sports activities at Matches Sports Bar.
The festival features two days of live music, performances, and activities. Saturday will showcase local musicians and DJs, while Sunday will highlight local dance and performing arts groups, including Liv2Dance and Towers School Performing Arts. The local sibling duo The Rec will return with their acclaimed acoustic set, joined by new act Ashford Sings and DJ JG spinning classic chart hits.
ASHFOOD! offers something for everyone, with free crafts and activities for kids, face painting, and more to ensure the whole family enjoys the event.
Due to its prime location in Elwick Place, ASHFOOD! is perfectly situated for visitors from near and far. Just a five-minute walk from Ashford International Station, festival-goers can spend the day indulging in culinary delights before easily hopping on a train home.
