Elwick Place’s first food and drink festival was a sweet success!

‘ASHFOOD!’, a family food and drink festival, that took place over the weekend of July 1st and 2nd at Ashford’s Elwick Place, we are very excited to share, welcomed over 1,000 visitors!

With a vast array of treats on offer, visitors enjoyed wines from Meophams Wines, prosecco from Fizzy Flamingo, cocktails from hide bar by herd. and drinks from Elwick Place’s Picturehouse cinema, Matches Sports Bar and Leo & Sage café. While also being spoiled for choice when it came to delicious eats with food from  Il Pakkero’s famous local pizzas, Jay’s Soul Food, Wild Souls Kitchen Greek Street Food, Pasta Rasta and cookies from Margate’s renowned Cookie Man. Leo & Sage were also on hand with their famous gelato and Picturehouse samples from their menu.

The event also saw outstanding performances from a collection of local artists including Roxanne Hicks, duo The Rec, Tasha McCoy and Ashantii Elliott & Lakenya. Followed by smooth performance from renowned Folkestone DJ Steve Flash Collins. 

Sunday saw more impressive local talent performing, with Hythe Dance School, a jaw-dropping performance from Madison Lorann, the Towers School performing arts group, Liv 2 Dance and finally, the East Kent Chorus choir.

In addition to the treats and talent, there was plenty of fun for the family with face painting, bracelet making and the opportunity to decorate your own chef’s hat! Plus, for those fancying a little friendly competition, Elwick Place’s Matches Sports Bar had a sports challenge and Snap Fitness hosted a spin the wheel competition as well as offering nutritional advice.

“We were so excited when Elwick first opened and then it never really got going. Today has been great! We were unsure about seating etc, but the benches are great, so great we’ve stayed for 2 hours longer and 3 more drinks.”
